Franc graduated with honors in wine studies from The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. He trained at 1 star Michelin Guide restaurants, in Burgundy, France; Hostellerie de Vieux Moulin and Chez Chamille. And continues to cook at restaurants during annual visits to Italy.
Franc Harriss is the only American chef invited to be the interim chef of the French Consulate in Beverly Hills.
